Hi
For those who have the knowledge, does the 2G transmission have the VIN on it?

I know that some transmission have the VIN but not sure if the 2G transmission have it.

Thanks

That's not the cars vin but it's the transmission characteristics, identification number, gives details of the transmission, specially on modern automatic cars it is important so you can bind TCM, engine and transaxle together

Some transmissions do have the VIN stamped or engraved onto their casings. After all these years, the only way to know whether yours does is to check. And it’s possible that it doesn’t.

The last 2G transmission I bought had the VIN etched into the casing.

Refer to VIN tag on transmission.

Yes each transmission has a VIN on it. It will be located on the bellhousing, if you're looking at the transmission in the car, it'll be the rectangular flat spot on the front side closest to your compressor wheel on the turbo.

There'll be another flat spot with some other codes on the top side right below the head on the side. that tells you what gearset is in it.
