This is seriously baffling 😯 reputable shop installs bearings wrong, They absolutely owe you a long block, I'm not sure I'd trust any of the build after this. Sorry to hear man!
Yeah, agreed. Hard to trust any part of the long block after this mess up.

As much as I was convincing myself to let a local shop I’m pretty sure is well qualified to build my motor, this type of stuff makes me want to do it myself. Even if it’s my first build I’m very meticulous and have all of you to field questions and pics off of right? Crap..
Sorry this happened bro! Drop back and punt right? Going to let them make it right or get reimbursed somehow and attempt it yourself?

Not sure what the plan is yet.

-Need the entire short block disassembled / cleaned and reassembled with all new gaskets / seals etc, new crank, probably a new block.
-Need the head disassembled / cleaned etc.
-Need the turbo rebuilt
-Probably get a new oil pump and gears.

Lot of wasted money and time. Not even including the rear bumper damage from being pushed by a police car, the tow truck damaged the rear carbon muffler as well as my brand new powder coated crossmember bar from bullfab. List goes on!

OMFG! I can’t even express how upset I am for you. I’m so sorry man.

Im sorry man, this is such a great build. I just finished it from the beginning, and was really hoping for a happy ending.

Has the builder said anything? I dont think id trust them, but they are definitely on the hook for something.

On pins and needles waiting for an update. Where’s the builder on this? Are they making it right?

I hope they know it was for (possibly) the nicest eclipse in the world and that the whole community is watching. Might give them an extra little kick in the ass to make it right.

Got locked out of my account for a while (thanks a lot monthly password change) and was dying to know what happened with this one. What a bummer to come back to.

If he does bring the motor, better remember assault carries a heavy sentence.

Fixed. Resist the temptation.

Although if he's on your property I'm sure a "I was defending myself" argument could be made. :p

Home address? Just saying I could tell you a couple stories of good examples of why not to fu&k with a drywall hanger’s money, let alone car. That was 20+ years ago though…:hmm:

Off to B&M performance to get fixed up. They will go through the longblock etc. Not sure if I will have them get it 100% installed or just R&R the engine etc and I'll take it from there.

TBD, but they will at least get the longblock dialed in 100%.
