You guys know that setting in the misc setting "Activate fans full on"

I was just wondering if there's any way to make this setting auto-enable itself at a certain temperature?

Like say I want the fans to be full on when my coolant temperature reaches 175F, is it possible with ECMLink V3?

Yes you can do it, but not with that check box. basically you'll want to trigger the fan Hi relays with one of the programmable outputs in link (FPS, EGR). Inside those programmable outputs, you can set whatever coolant temp you want to trigger the fan relays. This is how most 1g link users do ECU controlled fans, since that's not a built in function of the factory 1g ECU.

Nice addition to the thread for both 1g and 2g owners, thank you @trogador2005 :thumb:

Humorous but GOOD threads are my favorites! :applause:

Many people start to think to put more air flow first by replacing the fans or turn on the fan earlier to prevent the coolant temp gets higher. But you should think about the coolant flow too. Even if you would put better cooling at the radiator, it wouldn't work well if the thermostat is still closed. You should consider about that.

And if you don't want to use the limited ECMLink input/output, you can simply make own circuit by a coolant temp switch or a fan controller.

Maybe it's off topic but I would share my experience.
Adding an auxiliary water pump in the coolant route is much much more efficient and cost/time effective than replacing radiators and fans with aftermarket ones, ducting more or adjusting fan turning on temp. That tiny water pump only usually draws about 1.2A ~ 4.5A max (depends on the pump size), and it would allow you to have better cooling at lower vehicle speed without going a overdrive water pump or revving up the engine or drawing much current. That can prevent overheating drastically in traffic.

Nice addition!!!!
I always hate my fans coming on as soon as I turn the key, so I made this fan delay, incase anyone feels the same. It just delays the turn on time if your car is still hot, until the car is running, giving all the battery to the starter and ignition before firing 🔥 up the fans.
You can visit it HERE if it's something you'd like to know more about.
The timer I used is/was still available here.... AITIAO 2Pcs Timer Delay Relay DC 12V 20A Programmable Digital Cycle Delay Relay Timer Switch ON-Off Control 0ms-999h LED Digital Display Time Relay Module

Is there a better way to accomplish the goal of having the fans turn on by themself?
Yeah, use this.
