Here’s a better picture of my Mustang! I never was much of a Mustang fan until I drove a coyote car years ago. I picked this up about 3 years ago with 21,000 miles on it and I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever about it! It gets a ton of attention anytime I get it out and it’s an absolute...
Well the weather has finally started to break here in Indiana so I took advantage of it and figured it was time to dive into diagnosing my poor running condition. Luckily it was something simple that I for whatever reason overlooked. I pulled the plug wires off one by one with the car running to...
Yeah, it's a N/A 4g with an auto trans. Plugs have about 15 minutes of run time on them collectively. I replaced them after the issue occurred. But you're right, probably wouldn't hurt to recheck them. Timing marks all line up as they should, which honestly surprised me. The belt on this car is...
Update:So due to totaling my Cherokee after a kamikaze buck incident on the way home from a wedding back in October. I had been daily driving the talon off and on up until about a week ago. I had left it at our other location for work overnight, went to pick it up the following day, started...
So after I got this thing home I went through the the normal inspection stuff. Checking fluids, belts, leaks, and so on.Found that the entire brake system was absolutely junk, seized rear calipers, left front had ejected the inner pad a long time ago, trashed the caliper, and the rotor as...
It's a super solid car, especially for being up north its whole life. It doesn't have any of the usual 1G rust spots or anything! But yeah I agree, this color has always been one of my favorites. Think I'm just going to clean this one up and just make a reliable, clean driver out of it.
Story Time: PurchasingI stumbled across this car as I do many others on the beloved Facebook Marketplace! It was your typical vague information post with some terrible pictures, stating the car ran fine, had low mileage, needed brakes, all with a price tag of $1,200 Firm! The owner was...
If you want to trust a $40 fuel pump for racing purposes, then by all means be my guest. I do see that you're semi local to me, I've got two walbro 255s sitting on the shelf in my garage. I'll gladly give them to you if you want them. They came in a parts car I bought last year and I don't have...
Has anyone had any personal dealings with this company in Indianapolis? I'm strongly considering them to do all of the engine work on my 6 bolt. Judging by some of the brief conversations I've had with them and the content of their website and Facebook page, they seem to know what they are doing...
With little price difference between an oe style replacement to a good 255lph pump, it's almost a waste of money to put a stock one back in. Might as well just upgrade it and be done if your replacing it anyways.
@ThunderChild the entire car needs gone through front to back, top to bottom. It'll take time but I'll get her back to where she needs to be soon enough!
@pat white I knew the belt needed replaced, was trying to work out some other odd ball issues I was having with the car first. Figured it would have held on in the mean time, but it didn't. Took a chance, went against my better judgment, and took an L this go around. So back to square one...

Just call me when all of your stuff comes in, I can't imagine any part of this is going to be difficult. It'll either work fine or not work at all! lol
I did, I cut off the stud as close as I could get to the bottom of the car, then I used an air hammer to punch the remainder of the broken studs out. Afterwards I drilled a hole from the bottom of the car through rear trunk pan. Installed two button head bolts with some nice washers and bolted...
Okay, I had a feeling this would be the case with this issue. I have a couple of ideas to correct the concern, so I guess I’ll have to get crafty with it, and go from there! Thanks for the input though!
The tanks already out, I pulled it to replace it, unfortunately one of the studs broke off during removal. Now I have my new tank and pump setup but I’ve got to figure this minor issue out first before it can go back together.
I’ve got a 1G FWD with a broken mounting stud for the fuel tank strap, is there a way to replace said stud or do I need to figure out another way to bolt my fuel tank back in? I’ve searched and searched for replacement methods and parts but keep coming up empty handed, surely I’m not the only...
Unfortunately not at the moment, the interior is in awesome shape but could use a thorough cleaning. I unfortunately just haven’t had a chance to do that yet, just now getting to the point where I have some free time to mess with the car again.
I bought my first 1G for $500, had to put another $1000 in it or so when it was all said and done. It had sat for quite a few years but I had a lot of fun in that car for it being on a stock turbo.
Not sure if you ever found any shops local to you that you’re satisfied with, but I work for a shop just south of Lafayette, IN. I personally have worked on a few DSM’s over the years and we had an EVO in the shop for a clutch replacement last fall if I remember correctly. We’re a small, but...
Alright, well I’ve been around DSM’s since shortly after getting my license 12+ years ago now. Had a few good friends with 2G GST’s and GSX’s that I just absolutely loved. But I never could quite find myself able to own one back then or make the switch from my Honda/Nissan ways back then. Fast...
