I'd guess 15-20 years ago shops were selling them for good money. Then someone copied one in China, whored it out on ebay for a year or two at prices less than raw materials could be bought for here in the US. So the shops stopped selling them as they couldn't compete, and then after time the guys on eBay hocking them probably lost interest due to margins sucking or they sold only 25 a year or they just went to a different platform or straight up went out of business or they were just too incompetent to keep them in stock. Lots of forks in that road but either way the whole thing dies. It's the same story I've seen with many many parts over the years. It's a dirty business with no f**ks given by the guys on eBay just ruining stuff the second they get a hint of something being popular. And you see it now with even big players like Summit. They have their Summit brand which are just blatant rip-offs of legit stuff. It's a dirty f**king business and the guys getting the lions share are hacks all the way up companies of that scale.

You know what this reminds me of?

DSM part out guys and Mitsubishi suddenly stopping production of new replacement parts. Sounds super duper familiar.

Adding to the tread:
A rear diff cover with added capacity to help keep temps lower for road racing/autox folks. Wouldn't have to be as big as this Greddy example, but you get the idea.

What kind of temps do you see on the road course? I've never tried capturing this information so I'm curious!

Allegedly carbonetics is making 2g drip rails out of carbon fiber.
If someone ends up making those drip rails I'll be buying as many as I can. I've only seen one set, which is in my garage atm, in perfect shape but the car has been garage kept for 20 years. 10 of those years in storage not driving.

How about a replacement 1ga front mitsubishi center lense? All mine are yellowed and no idea how to restore them.
I know they are plastic, but try some 420 cleaner shaken around on the inside, rinse with warm water. I’ve used baking soda tooth paste with a tooth brush, water wash, and then some serious abrasives 400, 600, 800, 1200 grit wet sand series, and a final treatment with plastic polish. - on the main lenses, back to clear and clean. Maybe this is too much for the centers?

Yeah, that's what I've been worried about is being too harsh on it. I have an extra one to practice on so I'll have to give it a go.

1G body parts!!!
There's only a few new 1G hoods left. (I have 1)
No more new 1G fenders (I have 3)
There's only a few 1Ga front marker lights (I have 2)
There's no new rear 1G quarter panels or doors.

Fiberglass and carbon hoods are out there but...
Fiberglass and carbon fiber panels are from a few vendors for most of this stuff, gonna be rough in 5 to 10 years.
